We haven’t always been a farming family. Rather, we have evolved into a farming family.

We are actually veterinarians by training … and we find enjoyment and feel fulfilled by living a farming lifestyle and by sharing our “hodge-podge” of farm fresh items with other local families.

Windmill Pines

(originally

Bucka Bucka Bee

Honey & Hens)

What’s in a name? A lot - actually! When we originally decided on a name for a little family farm business, we chose something pretty silly and unique. “Bucka Bucka Bee Honey & Hens did suit us well. And here’s why. It wasn’t because we raise bees and hens (although we do!) But rather our name had a fun personal background.

Our youngest son, like many kiddos, used to sing nursery rhymes. One of his favorites was “Pat-a-cake, pat-a-cake, bakers man …”

When he came to the part which says “roll it, pat it, mark with a “B” … his version became, “roll it, pat it, bucka, bucka B

And hence a farm name was born …

However, as our farm and business plan started to take form, we realized that we needed a slightly more “professional” name by which to represent the many facets of our farm. Thus, Windmill Pines seemed quite fitting and perhaps a bit more “marketable”.

Farm Visits

We plan to provide opportunities and organized programs for farm visits in the near future! Specifically, we envision giving kids the chance to have hands-on experiences with farm animals, gardening and learning about nature and the environment. Stay tuned for these opportunities!
